BBQ School is a national cooking school and events company that hosts weekly cooking classes and corporate team-building events at our head office in Artarmon, Sydney and across the country.
Our mission is to provide fun, engaging and hands-on cooking classes and event experiences for our customers, as well as deliver key brand messages for our partners and sponsors.
We have a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Event and Operations Assistant to join this small, dynamic team at our head office.
This role requires an energetic and positive professional with a hands-on approach to all aspects of Ops and Events management who will be able to lead a team of hospitality all-rounders to success This role represents an excellent opportunity for someone with the right experience, skills and attitude seeking to further an existing career path or return to the workforce.
The role can be part of full time however we see that the required hours would be 30 to 40+ and include 3 to 5 days._
The Role:
Operations Assistant
- Management of the daytoday operations of BBQ School in an efficient and well organised manner;
- Manage the communication and support for our class facilitators and cofacilitators for our local and interstate classes and events, including roster preparation;
- Ensure HR related functions are carried out effectively, including leadership, motivation, recruitment, and training and development;
- Maintain excellence in food service standards to ensure a high level of customer and client satisfaction;
- Management of inventory, logistics and reportings for all classes, events and retail stock;
- Management of relationship with our local and interstate venues; and
- Supporting your teams with achieving retail sales targets, securing corporate and event sales.
- Ability to work weekends;
- Manage/Interest in social media and content creation or support
- Provide administrative support where needed
- Delivery and pick of stock when and as required
Event Assistant
- run a bar, be a kitchen hand, manage staff work well in a team,
- be fun and engaging with customers, have a keen eye for hospitality standards,
- be amazing at social media,
- be competent and responsible with cash and stock handling and processing,
- be able to work towards managing events,
- be a fun and engaging person,
- have knowledge regarding software like Square or are willing to learn new things
- be able to commit to a role for a minimum of 6 to 12 months.
The Person
- Previous experience in a hospitality / events managerial capacity
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and support a great team
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Fantastic customer service skills coupled with great communication skills to ensure customer satisfaction
- Financial management skills will be highly regarded
- Reasonable level of IT and communication experience
- An upbeat, fun, engaging and welcoming personality
- A Can
- Do attitude
- Unrestricted driver's license
