What you'll be doing
To develop strong and effective stakeholder and community partnerships. Provide high quality health education and health promotion to public and NGO sector staff, community groups, and priority populations.

To ensure the provision of evidence based health education programs to reduce the incidence and impact of HIV, sexually transmissible infections (STI) and hepatitis.

To deliver messages consistent with NSW Health and ISLHD policies, procedures, standards, relevant legislation, and the NSW Health Code of Conduct.

This position provides the above service to the HARP Unit within the ISLHD Drug and Alcohol Service.

This is a temporary Full Time maternity relief position until 3 November 2024 with the possibility of an extension at same/reduced hours**All NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (2 doses) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Please provide proof of vaccination if available.

Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated previous experience in delivering and evaluating successful HIV/STI/Hepatitis prevention programs demonstrating an understanding of health promotion principles.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current developments and priorities in HIV / STI / Hepatitis prevention, testing and treatment and understanding of issues affecting priority populations.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and succinctly both verbally and in writing with consumers, community groups and various levels of management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and also ability to work with minimum supervision to deliver agreed outcomes within deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying, negotiating and building effective partnerships with key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage social media channels.
  • Ability to undertake flexible working hours, evenings and weekends as required.
