We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced temporary full-time Programming and Operations Lead to design and deliver the new Darebin Intercultural Centre program.


The successful applicant will be responsible for leading the Darebin Intercultural Centre team, engaging with Darebin's diverse community, building partnerships with key stakeholders, programming the venue, and managing associated operations and processes.

About the Role

This role will lead the implementation of the Darebin Intercultural Centre Programming Framework that was co-designed with Traditional Owners and members of Darebin's diverse community.

The new purpose-built Centre is a place where people cultivate mutual respect for each other's cultures and can equally participate in life.


The Programming and Operations Lead will work with the community, colleagues, the team and the venue to realise and operationalise the Centre's Mission to enable connections within and between communities, cultures, generations, faiths and identities.


The successful applicant must have:

  • Experience in designing events, activities and programs, including production and promotions
  • Experience in community engagement and collaboration, and customer service
  • Experience in team management
  • Capacity to manage venue operations, including financials, reporting, and processes
  • Ability to problemsolve in a fastpaced environment
  • Must be available to work afterhours and on weekends

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in community cultural development, arts and cultural programming, production, project and event management
  • Commitment to interculturalism, intersectionality, combatting discrimination and working collaboratively with community members, groups and organisations to explore these ideas
  • Experience in venuebased programming and operations, including risk management
  • Experience of managing program and project budgets, including coinvestment research and development
  • Outreach and networking with agencies, service providers, community groups and individuals who work with and within diverse communities
  • Communications experience across a range of promotional channels
  • Bilingual skills would be an advantage.
