WHS Coordinator - NSW Government
A WHS Coordinator is required by a NSW Government department based in Sydney + WFH (hybrid) on an initial contract until October 2023 with potential extensions.
Pay Rate:
Up to $70 per hour + Super:
Contract Length:
Until October 2023 with potential extensions
Primary Purpose of the Role:
As the WHS Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of governance are achieved & statutory obligations are met, including implementation of the enterprise risk management framework & WHS management system.
Key Accountabilities:
- Take the lead on designated accountabilities & action items in the project plan
- Guide project delivery & ensure that progress is communicated to action owners & the Director Audit, Risk & Safety (DARS)
- Maintain WHS registers & records to demonstrated the process undertaken for review
- Schedule regular progress meetings with DARS to communicate status of actions, barriers or support needs & to discuss next steps
About You:
- A recognised Work Health & Safety qualification at diploma level or above is required
- Demonstrated experience performing a risk or safety related role with additional thorough knowledge of WHS legislation & ISO 31000
- Proven capability in developing & documenting a WHS management system
- Outstanding communication skills, both written & verbal
