Description

Lead the provision of expert advice and guidance to management and Support Planners within the NIISQ Agency in relation to home and vehicle modifications for Scheme participants.

Provide participants, their family and carers with information about the Scheme and Agency as it relates to home and vehicle modifications and support them to exercise choice and control in their contribution to the design of Agency-funded modifications.

Deliver a key liaison and coordination function across support planners, participants, procurement, and qualified external Assessors, assisting to maintain high quality service outcomes for scheme participants.

Assess and approve necessary and reasonable home and vehicle modification requests within delegated authority.

Lead in collaboration with the Principal Modifications Officer (Procurement), the development and continuous improvement of strategies, policies, procedures and service standards to enhance the quality of home and vehicle modifications outcomes for participants.

Support the effective management of home and vehicle modifications complaints and incidents in consultation with the Principal Modifications Officer and the Service Delivery Partnership team.

Assist support planners to understand and discharge their delegated statutory functions in accordance with the Act, including assessment of participant needs for treatment, care and support, and decisions on necessary and reasonable treatment, care and support.

  • comprehensive understanding of home and vehicle modifications for people with severe injuries, in the context of the health, disability or injury insurance sectors, and current business acumen.* exceptional interpersonal and relationship-management skills, ability to communicate complex information, set clear expectations and engage in difficult conversations in an empathetic manner with a variety of stakeholders including Participants, third party providers, external bodies and internal stakeholders.
  • A proven track record in making sound decisions and recommendations based on relevant evidence in a statutory environment.Working with children and young people is a requirement of this role. The nominated applicant must obtain and continue to hold a valid Working with Children Blue Card (for Employment) or Exemption Card in Queensland.
