Closing date: 03/04/2024

BASScare is a community based, not-for-profit organisation, providing quality services for the aged in the Boroondara community.

A brief overview of the role
Our Lifestyle Coordinator breathes life and community spirit into the building.

You'll bring significant project management and event management expertise to deliver a wide range of activities each month.

These activities currently include weekly excursions, our very popular Intergenerational Program with our local kindergarten partner, specific time-of-the-year events such as Easter, Christmas, AFL tipping and Mother's Day amongst others.

What will I be doing day to day in this role?

  • Delivering programs and activities: currently, we run our excursions program once a week. You'll be driving the bus to a range of different locations both near and far, helping our residents to get out and see more of our world. During kinder terms, you'll be involved in taking residents up to our partner kinder for our intergenerational program. You'll run a range of internal programs and activities throughout the week.
  • Coordinating programs and activities: some programs are delivered in partnership with other providers and contractors. You'll liaise with them regularly to provide feedback that ensures these programs are run successfully.
  • Planning and reporting: you're responsible for planning the wide variety of programs we deliver each month. To ensure as many residents and their families can participate, you'll spend a decent amount of time each week on the phone and online researching and booking events and activities, checking accessibility requirements and looking at new trends and opportunities for the Lifestyle program.
  • Orienting new residents: just before a new resident moves in, you'll take morning tea out to their current home and complete an orientation session with them and their family. When they move in to Morgan, you'll take a lead role in meeting with them regularly over the first four weeks to go through how to use the different appliances and technologies in the apartment, as well as navigating community life.
  • Leading your team: You'll meet with each of your team members once a fortnight to discuss performance, and provide coaching and support.

Salary and Job Hours
We're offering $34-$36 per hour depending on your experience.

You'll also have access to our generous Not for Profit salary packaging scheme, which enables you to increase your take-home pay by packaging up to $15,900 of your annual salary plus further Meals and Entertainment benefits.

You'll be working Monday, Wednesday and Friday, , plus either:

  • A full day every second Tuesday, or
  • A half day every Tuesday.
This is a permanent, part-time role.

Mandatory Job Requirements

  • Full driver's license, comfortable with driving a 12seater bus.
  • A clear National Police Check, completed within the last two years.
  • First Aid, CPR and Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) qualifications.
