GHD Victoria is looking for an innovative and experienced civil professional in a
Team Leader position to support the day-to-day operation, growth and management of the group, and a growing team of civil professionals.

This challenging role provides opportunities for both operational and strategic leadership, including key accountabilities across business development and people management, whilst also having the opportunity to work on large scale and complex projects, being empowered to deliver challenging civil engineering solutions that go above and beyond the business-as-usual If you have been working in more technical roles and are keen to progress to team management and providing leadership, then this may be your next career move

In 2023 and beyond,
Victoria's Civil & Urban Infrastructure team will be working on projects that support the generations to come, from new and inspiring education environments, renewable projects, Defence infrastructure, urban ecosystems, urban development and world-class integrated transport networks.

Future focused, you'll get to make the role your own by:

Providing day-to-day supervision and coaching to the team in line with GHD's core values and strategy.
Work closely with the Business Group Leader of the group to manage scheduling and management of workload for the Team.
Supporting the Business Group Leader in efforts to deliver the objectives of the Team, Business Group, Regional and Australian Business Plans.
Assisting in the management of team members throughout the employment lifecycle (Safety/Wellbeing, Recruitment, Onboarding, Remuneration, Performance Planning and Review and Professional Development).
Leading your own multidisciplinary technical teams on a diverse range of projects, with responsibility for delivering strong technical outcomes, and managing budgets and resources
Leading your civil engineering discipline team as part of a major project in Victoria and nationally
Delivering multidisciplinary civil infrastructure projects, from feasibility through to construction

What would you bring to the team?

A vision and passion for the future.
Civil Engineering or related qualification with previous experience or readiness to manage a small team (typically 1 to 12 team members).
Capable knowledge of civil engineering (earthworks, roads, drainage, sewer and water design).
Ability to coach, support and direct team members to ensure effective client outcomes.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to build trust based, value adding relationships with people across all levels of business.
An accountable, approachable, collaborative and supportive leadership style.
Experience and understanding the civil engineering industry in Victoria as well as connections with clients and authorities
