As a Strategic Financial Analyst, you will play a crucial role in providing strategic financial advice and support to the organization.

You will lead key strategic financial reviews and projects, provide detailed modeling and recommendations, and ensure the delivery of the Long Term Financial Plan.

Additionally, you will continually identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to ongoing success.


The role:

Reporting to the Senior Manager - Finance, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the delivery of the Long-Term Financial Plan, ensuring its maturity and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinate and lead strategic reviews and projects, overseeing the implementation of identified improvement opportunities.
  • Support the budget and financial components of the Annual Business Plan.
  • Lead financial modeling and periodic strategic reviews of rating processes and structures.
  • Provide financial and prudential reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Thoroughly analyze and effectively communicate the financial impact of potential and current initiatives to key decisionmakers.
  • Present funding and investment options to internal stakeholders, supporting the financial sustainability of the organisation.
  • Develop accurate financial models and projections, offering timely and precise advice on financial planning and growth pressures.
  • Evaluate and assess the organisations longterm financial position, contributing to the development of financial strategy and forecasting for various plans.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace policies, procedures, risk assessment, injury management, and workplace health and safety standards.
  • Uphold all policies and procedures, including the Code of Conduct for Employees, to expected standards.

Qualifications/Requirements:


  • Tertiary qualifications in Economics, Finance, or a related field with CA/CPA qualifications (desirable).
  • Strong experience in financial analysis and assessing implications for nonfinancial users.
  • Extensive experience in developing financial models to support decisionmaking.
  • Proven expertise in practical and strategic financial analysis, including scenario planning.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Prior experience in a similar role within a large organization.
