An exciting and unique opportunity exists for talented and passionate individuals to join the Yoorrook Justice Commission Response and Engagement Branch as Policy Officer to contribute to the ground-breaking work of the Group in the areas of truth, treaty, self-determination and cultural rights.


The Yoorrook Justice Commission Response and Engagement Branch sits within the Self Determination Policy and Transformation Division and coordinates the whole-of-government State response to the Yoorrook Justice Commission (Commission), including engagement with government departments and agencies through the Yoorrook Interdepartmental Committee and the WoVG Working Group.


As the
Policy Officer, Yoorrook Justice Commission Response and Engagement, you will assist in policy analysis and coordination to inform the development of policy and specific projects within defined areas.

Under direction, you will also provide analysis and expert advice to the Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, Premier, the Secretary and senior executives on issues relating to the Commission.


Please note, a relevant tertiary qualification and an understanding of self-determination reform priorities for Victorian Aboriginal communities, and current legislation, policy and frameworks relevant to Victorian First Peoples would be highly regarded for this role.


Multiple roles may be available and while this role is fixed term until 28 June 2024 there is a potential for extension.
