PRIMARY PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION


The
Education Support - School Administrator fulfils an important organisational role to assist with the efficient and effective daily operations of the College through the deployment of personnel and resources which maximise learning.

It is expected that they will provide a high level of customer service to the student body, staff and visitors to the College and be competent in the provision of up to date and relevant information.

The
Education Support - School Administrator is also responsible for maintaining and inputting accurate data for reporting to staff, School Council and Leadership teams.

Accurate data recording is important as it reflects in the provision of information and reports to Families, Staff, School Council and the Community.

ORGANISATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS AND IMPACT

CLASSIFICATION CONTEXT AND TASK LEVEL


A position at this level performs and/or supervises tasks that are carried out in accordance with guidelines, accepted practice and school policy.

This may include the supervision and coordination of other education support class staff within the work area or educational program.

Supervision and coordination would be limited to ensuring routine tasks are performed to required standards.

  • Specialised support to achieve specific outcomes is a feature of range 2. Typically this will involve accountability for a single function, (e.g. ensuring data is properly maintained) or the operation of a work area (e.g. managing the day to day operation of a school office) under the direction of the principal or another senior manager.
  • Provides support to teachers and students that is beyond the routine support provided at education support class Level 1, range 1. Within an educational program assists teachers with the coordination of the support function, such as directing/organising the work of other support staff or providing a specialist support role.
  • The role is for a specific purpose for which there will be direct accountability as opposed to support roles that are carried out by a range of staff performing routine tasks under direction.
  • Coordinate, organise and determine work priorities within a work area
  • Ensure the efficient operation of a work area
  • Obtain cooperation amongst staff within the work area and supervise the performance of tasks
  • Communicate and liaise with school staff to foster cooperation
  • Coordinate the preparation of school circulars, newsletters and other routine school communication
  • Ensure confidentiality of records is maintained
  • Manipulate data/information and prepare documentation/basic reports

REPORTS TO


This position has line management responsibilities to the Principal but on a day to day basis is accountable to the Assistant Principals, Business Manager and the Office Manager.

The
Education Support - School Administrator **is part of the Administration Team, whose responsibility is to work co-operatively as part of the team, ensuring a productive, efficient workplace


Responsibilities:


_ Daily Organisation_
- _Facilitate coverage for all classes and duties of teachers who are absent from the College with one of the following: under allotted staff members, extras, or CRTs_
- _Provide DET employed CRT with employment documentation_
- _Maintain up to date VIT/WWCC register for CRT's and Casual ES Staff_
- _Liaise with CRT booking agency_
- _Provide new CRT with an induction to the college_
- _Maintain up to date CRT information booklets_
- _Maintain set of keys for CRTs_
- _Sign in/out register for keys and devices_
- _Ordering supplies and yard duty vests as required_
- _Produce purchase orders for CRT payments_
- _Approve CRT agency in
