The Role

The key objectives of this position are to optimise the extraction of the Dargues Gold Mine resource through safe, efficient and cost-effective mining operations.

This will be completed through collaboration with operational and technical services teams, providing guidance and planning for the entire backfill cycle to ensure production targets are met.

T his role is open to a 8/6 roster.

Key Responsibilities

Collection of Cemented Hydraulic Fill (CHF) samples
Conducting Unconfined Compressive Strength (UCS), Permeability, Particle Size Distribution (PSD) tests and sizing of the fill and cured samples
Assist underground operations on installation of underground backfill reticulation systems, fill bulkheads and monitoring equipment
Conducting audits on underground backfill reticulation system
Supervise and Audit backfill infrastructure construction
Monitoring, Record keeping and reporting of fill placement and performance
Data entry and reporting of QAQC results
Conduct maintenance of the backfill plant
Maintain the Underground Void Model with Asbuilt shapes and backfill status to ensure this is available for Mine Planning purposes
Develop and deliver backfill instructions that consider the extraction of future mining blocks whilst ensuring safe and efficient backfill activities
Assist members of the technical services team to complete task as required including Surveying, Ventilation audits & production activities.

About You

Previous experience in underground hard rock mines preferable
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Word, Excel and Access
Experience in the use of mining software such as Deswik considered favourable
Be an effective participant and contributor to the Technical Services Team
Ability to communicate with all levels in the organisation
Tertiary qualification in engineering will be considered favourable
Current C Class Drivers Licence.
