    Public Sector People are partnering with a large local government organisation to recruit for a Senior Governance Officer

    Contract:

    12 months with view to extendLocation: Northern Sydney regionHybrid model available after training periodResponsibilitiesProvide support to the Manager Records & Governance in the provision of policy development, research requests and ensuring that the organisation is compliant with its obligations under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009.

    Coordinate and oversee the operational outputs of the Governance Team

    Research, prepare and write Governance-related reports to Council meetings and the production of other types of official correspondence as required by the Manager.

    Maintain Council's Registers – including Staff Disclosure of Interest, Councillor's voting on planning and development matters, Gifts and Benefits, etc.

    EssentialTertiary qualifications in business, law, governance or related field
    Previous experience within local councils
    Previous experience supervising a small team (2-3 employees)
    Experience in managing and processing Government Information (Public Access) (GIPA) applications (i.e.
    freedom of information requests)
