The Role

The Defence International Training Centre (DITC) provides English language training, teacher training and cultural familiarisation courses for foreign military members.

The role will work independently with the opportunity for autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes of their work.

They will exercise initiative and judgement and be involved in strategic planning, change management and system improvement.

About our Team

The Training Support Section (TSS) ensures the smooth running and high quality of DITC courses and responds to their needs as they arise.

The TSS comprises of a Training Evaluation and Compliance Officer, an Assessment Manager, a Flexible Learning Coordinator, an IT Officer, a Publishing Officer, a Multimedia Specialist, and an Information Resource Centre Manager.

Together, they provide support to students and staff inside and outside the classroom and ensure that all components of courses are ready and at the forefront of current educational standards.

The team often provides support in developing learning material, procuring new technologies, and providing professional development to staff.

Recent TSS projects include the DITC website and the re-development of the ADF English Language Proficiency System. TSS pivots and adapts to DITC and Defence requirements as needed. Through day-to-day tasks, TSS contributes to increasing international engagement and promoting DITC beyond the completion of courses within Australia.

They are expected to be capable of interpreting Defence policies and procedures, and assessing and improving current work processes.

They will have the opportunity to lead and reshape how DITC conducts course evaluation and validation and contribute to how DITC responds to compliance requirements.

We are looking for a motivated and accountable team-player who can also work independently, set work priorities and manage workflows.

They will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to the needs and expectations of fellow staff and students to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes, and they will be accountable to contributing towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.
