About the role

TAFE NSW is looking for a qualified and experienced individuals to take up rewarding and fulfilling permanent positions as a Teacher of Mental Health and Counselling based at the Wollongong Campus, location negotiable depending on availability.

Two positions are available with statewide online delivery as per below:

  • 1 x permanent fulltime and
  • 1 x permanent parttime (17.5 hours per week days may be negotiated and may include some evening work)


As a dedicated educator at TAFE NSW, you will play a pivotal role in assisting, mentoring, and enriching the learning journey.

Through the delivery of educational programs and facilitating the acquisition of mental health and counselling qualifications, you will inspire students by sharing your expertise and passion for the industry.


To be successful in this role you must:

  • Have a Certificate IV Training and Assessment TAE40116 or equivalent.
  • Have a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience in the mental health and counselling related industry, gained no longer than 5 years previously.

This is a child-related position. A Working with Children Check is a prerequisite for anyone in child-related work. It involves a national criminal history check and review of findings of workplace misconduct.
