Mount Gibson Iron Limited is an established independent Australian producer of premium quality direct shipping iron ore (DSO) with assets in the Kimberley and Mid-West regions of Western Australia.

Mount Gibson's flagship operation is the Koolan Island mine, located approximately 140km north of Derby in the Buccaneer Archipelago in the Kimberley.

The mine is Australia's highest-grade producer of direct-shipping grade hematite, with an average Ore Reserve grade of 65.5% Fe and a current mine life of +5 years.

About the role:


We are now seeking to employ an experienced Human Resources Advisor to work full time in our Perth Head Office.

You'll be responsible for implementing the people plan consistently across the business to develop our workforce capability and culture.

You'll be a key advisor to our site and head office staff whilst also supporting cyclical activities such as salary review, performance and talent review.

Mount Gibson have a small HR team so your role will often be broad in its requirements. You'll get to know everyone within the business and feel valued in this important position.

Some site travel will be required which provides a unique opportunity to work in the spectacular Buccaneer Archipelago region of the Kimberley.


Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Provide advice and support to Koolan Island and Mount Gibson Iron on HR matters
  • Work closely with recruitment and mobilisation to ensure timely onboarding of new employees
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR systems, procedures and processes
  • Support site supervisors and leaders in the execution of their roles
  • Provide coaching and support to line managers and leaders
  • Maintain HR metrics and reporting

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Experience in front line HR support in a resource sector setting
  • Generalist knowledge in area's including IR, OD and talent management
  • An ability to engage and influence with all site staff
  • A tertiary qualification in HR or related discipline
