This role is being advertised as both ongoing and non-ongoing, with the employment type to be determined in negotiation with the preferred candidate and the PM&C delegate.
Where a non-ongoing specified term is offered, this would be for an initial period of up to 12 months, with possibility of extension up to a maximum period of two years.
A non-ongoing offer may result in conversion to an ongoing offer of employment, however this must occur within 18 months from the opening date of this advertisement.

Who we are
The Fiscal Policy Branch is responsible for coordinating PM&C's engagement with Budget processes and advice on fiscal policy matters. This is an opportunity to join the Branch responsible for providing advice and support to the Prime Minister, the Cabinet and Portfolio Ministers by providing a strategic whole of government view on important fiscal issues and the development of the Budget and Mid-Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook.
What you will do
We are seeking high-performing policy advisers to join the Fiscal Policy Branch in the Economic Division of PM&C.
As a member of the Fiscal Policy Branch, you are privy to exclusive insights into government decision making, from briefings from the Executive and via extensive consultation across PM&C, the Department of Finance and the Treasury. These whole-of-government insights will support you in providing well-considered advice on new policy proposals, high-quality guidance on Budget processes and influential briefing for the Prime Minister and the Expenditure Review Committee of Cabinet.
A closed merit pool may be established and used to fill the same or similar vacancies for 18 months from the date of advertising.
