  • Fulltime, continuing position based in the Finance Unit at 101 Currie Street
  • Salary: $73,341 $86,642 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)

About the Role


We are seeking a skilled Project Officer and Administrator to be responsible for providing high level support to the Chief Financial Officer, Finance Executive and the wider Finance Unit.

You will also be responsible for managing small to medium size projects within the Finance Unit that may have University-wide impact.


About the UniSA Finance Unit


The
Finance Unit is the central business unit which provides financial services to the University and is part of the Resources Portfolio led by the Chief Operating Officer.

The Finance Unit is committed to implementing effective financial and commercial practices to support the University's needs.

Achieving this will require the transformation of the finance function to be business partners to support the University to thrive in a competitive and rapidly evolving global environment.

The University's model of financial service delivery changed when all finance functions moved to an integrated service delivery model. This was to improve consistency of finance operations and to develop 'whole of institution business partnering' within the University. Finance will evolve to deliver a high level and sustainable best practice as a business unit across the University.


Core Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement initiatives that continually improve the administration and functioning of the Finance Unit
  • Manage projects across a range of areas such as process improvement, online form development impacting the University and contributing to large scale Universitywide projects and business improvement initiatives
  • Provide high level, executive support to the Finance Executive, including calendar management and travel coordination as required
  • Establish and maintain networks and positive working relationships with relevant staff at all levels of the University as well as the Finance Unit's external clients in order to inform and support the work of the Chief Financial Officer and Finance Executive
  • Develop content and material for the Finance Unit website and maintain the website to ensure it is current, reflects best practice and is in line with University standards and policies

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training or professional accreditation
  • Experience with project management and undertaking projects in a large and complex organisation
  • Highly developed organisational and time management skills, including high levels of initiative to effectively plan and prioritise deadlines
  • High level computing and administrative skills including a sound working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, experience in creating and maintaining web pages and experience with administrative information systems (electronic and paperbased)
