ABOUT THE ROLE


As the Project Controller you will own the daily updating of project controls, and budgeting, cost forecasting of the Queensland Transmission Line Projects.

This includes managing the reporting requirements in the project delivery module of Candy, head contract reporting, month-end Project Valuation, cost report, and ensuring compliance with Power Systems' policies and procedures, stakeholder requirements and statutory regulations.


Specific accountabilities include:


  • Assist and coordinate project handover, budget development through efficient use of Candy and other related software including Office 36
  • Establish the budget and project wbs structure and assist in setting up project controls.
  • Be the SME on project budgets, actuals, committed costs and uncommitted costs.
  • Daily update of progress trackers based on information provided by projects' team members.
  • Assisting Project Management Teams with accurate and timely cost forecasts at end of each month and training them as needed.
  • Cashflow forecasting with equal accuracy on both revenue and cost streams.
  • Prepare monthly project cost and project valuation report.
  • Participate in Commercial team deliverables.
  • Ensure agreed standards, formats and deliverable timeframes are maintained.
  • Make decisions within the guidelines established by Downer policies, practices and procedures and the relevant Awards, Acts, Regulations and Agreements
  • Integration of multidiscipline activities to achieve targets.

ABOUT YOU

  • Preferred degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Accounting or similar.
  • Experience in project controls and cost forecasting in a large project delivery environment, particularly infrastructure, would be advantageous.
  • Experience in the Candy and JDEG oraclebased system would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability in liaising and building relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Knowledge and understanding of computerised accounting systems.
  • Knowledge and understanding of quality systems.
