Billing Clerk

An opportunity for an experienced billings specialist to join an inclusive and diverse law firm in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne.

The Role
The position of Billing Clerk focuses primarily on the accurate and timely recording of all WorkCover litigation.

Operational tasks include all financial and statutory reporting, management reporting, expense control, capital management, tax, payroll, accounts payable, risk management and liaison with external auditors.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

An ability to work collaboratively with other members of the team by responding appropriately and promptly to all forms of communication, displaying high standards of conduct, and supporting the overall objectives of the team
Having a clear understanding of the relevant legal costs orders
Liaising with barrister clerks and various clients and stakeholders
Exceptional attention to detail, as you will be updating and maintaining databases, ensuring data quality, fielding and responding to daily questions and preparing month end reconciliations
Ensure invoicing and billing is completed & actioned in a timely manner
Other ad hoc tasks as required

About You

2 plus years experience in a billing role within the legal industry
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively with team and independently when required
Excellent organisation skills
Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and work demands
Ability to prioritise tasks, manage competing deadlines and deliver to strict and tight guidelines
Effective interpretation of numerical data to identify discrepancies
