About you

As our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Medical Educator, you'll have extensive experience in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural and health training.

You'll be a current Fellow of the RACGP (FRACGP) with highly developed communication and interpersonal skills to consult, negotiate and influence a wide range of people within the RACGP as well as external bodies.


To thrive in the role, you'll have:
a deep understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island culture, health, and training
an understanding of GP culture and learning requirements

experience in the design and delivery of medical education with leadership skills and understanding of GP culture and learning requirements.

About the opportunity
Reporting to the National Clinical Lead Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health and Cultural Training, you'll provide medical education leadership, expert strategic medical advice, and be responsible for assisting in the delivery of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural and health training at all levels of RACGP training


In addition, you'll:
support and contribute to the national delivery of RACGP's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Training in GP training.

Ensuring that that there is a nationally consistent approach to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural and health training and that high quality training is provided.

provide expert strategic clinical advice to assist with RACGP's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural and health education programs to ensure they are reflective and relevant to current and emerging needs and challenges of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

support for regional and local training teams in delivering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural and health training. Working closely and collaboratively with Cultural Educators and Cultural Mentors to deliver a cohesive program.

promote and support the training pipeline to enable Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to undertake and complete training for RACGP fellowship.

ensure that communication with key groups, stakeholders and communities is open, inclusive, and timely.
