The role of Manager, AARA is to lead the strategic implementation of Access arrangements and Reasonable adjustments and Illness and misadventure.

They should drive continuous improvement of all processes and practices in line with world best practice. The Manager should have a strong student and school focus.


In this role, you will:


  • Consult and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders including parent groups, medical representatives, school, disability advocates and other stakeholders to develop a contemporary and consistent approach to implementing AARA for internal and external assessment conducted in Queensland schools.
  • Develop and access networks with educational agencies, within Queensland across Australia, to support national and international research into best practice approaches, and to identify contemporary AARA options for consideration within the Queensland context.
  • Progress divergent options and solutions proposed across stakeholder groups to mutually acceptable and specific recommendations for consideration by senior management.
  • Provide advice and develop recommendations on the staffing arrangements required by QCAA to successfully implement and manage future AARA arrangements.
  • Develop strategies to enhance the knowledge and understanding of AARA practices by QCAA staff, and to develop a greater organisational capacity to respond to enquiries.
  • Create resources and deliver professional development to schools including face to face training and information sessions, fact sheets and webinars.
  • Prepare briefings, submissions and policy documents as required, and provide regular advice and updates to senior managers.
Applicants should possess a C class driver's licence.
