About Us
Yarra Valley Water provides essential water and sanitation services to over two million people. We are one of Australia's largest water utilities with more than 30% of Victoria's population relying on us 24/7.

We're future focused and continually work to anticipate the changing needs of our customers and stay ahead of evolving community expectations.

We're shifting to a regenerative approach in our work to actively contribute to improving the natural environment we all rely on.

Joining Yarra Valley Water means becoming part of a team that values your curiosity, passion, and commitment to making a lasting impact.

Here, you'll work on projects that truly matter, shaping a better future for generations to come.

About the team

As the leader of the Authority Works Team, you will play a critical role in managing the impacts of external works on our operations.

Our team oversees projects delivered by various authorities including Victorian Big Build Projects (for example the North East Link, Level Crossing Removal Program, Major Road Projects Victoria), local councils, utility providers, and other government entities, ensuring they do not compromise our services.

Working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, you'll lead a versatile team, driving performance and collaboration across disciplines.

Your accountability extends to ensuring that projects are managed effectively, potential risks are identified and mitigated, and that we maintain strong connections with our customers and communities.

This role offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible difference by enhancing customer and community value while navigating both complex operational and political challenges.

If you're passionate about leading teams, managing projects, and contributing to the greater good, this is the job for you.

Your typical day will include:

  • Coaching and developing team members, conducting performance evaluations, and managing recruitment.
  • Cultivating strong relationships with Authorities and key stakeholders.
  • Facilitating the delivery of both strategic initiatives and daytoday responsibilities.
  • Developing strategies to optimise team performance and efficiency.
  • Ensuring financial targets are met, conducting budget forecasting, and adhering to procurement protocols.

About you
No water experience? No problem At Yarra Valley Water, we value drive, impact, and aptitude over specific industry experience. If you're a passionate and motivated leader, we want to hear from you. Join us and bring your unique skills to make a difference.

More details on responsibilities and core capabilities can be found in the linked position description.
