An opportunity has arisen within the Perioperative environment for a motivated and self-directed Sterile Stock Technician to work within the Central Sterile Store room in Theatres at Norwest Private Hospital.

Norwest Private Hospital is located in the rapidly developing North West corridor of Sydney and is operated by Healthscope, a leading provider of private healthcare in Australia.

The hospital has 277 beds and is a high acuity facility with an Emergency Department located in Sydney's Bella Vista.


Our Department


Our Operating Theatre complex has 16 theatres, 32 first stage recovery bays as well as an additional 32 second stage chairs.

Our specialties include General (including laparoscopic), Colorectal, Bariatric, Orthopaedic, Cardiothoracic, ENT, Plastics, Paediatric, Oral & Dental, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Ophthalmic, Robotics, Gastroenterology, Neurosurgery, Urology and Vascular surgery


As the Central Set Up Area Officer your responsibilities will include:

  • Thermal disinfection inspection, packaging and sterilising of all instrumentation for theatre and other clinical areas
  • Comply with AS/NZ standards , GENCA
  • Operate interpret and document all machinery operational requirements
  • Report and document all quality activities
  • Ensure priority of instrumentation and processes

Essential Criteria:


  • Demonstrated knowledge of instrumentation
  • Sound knowledge of AS/NZ
  • Experience with tracking systems
  • Endoscopy reprocessing experience or willingness to learn
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Intermediate computer literacy skills including MS office and various data bases An interest in promoting best practice patient care
  • A focus on professional development
  • Flexibility to work AM and PM shifts Monday to Friday
