About the Home


A modern care home built on two hectares of land, set in a quiet suburb of Glenvale, just 5kms west of the Toowoomba town centre.

It consists of 124 beds, a with various care units such as dementia, respite, and palliative. Our primary goal is placing our focus on the health, lifestyle and well-being of our residents.

About the Role


As the Recreational Activities Officer, you will drive the energy, engagement, and participation of residents into a range of social, recreational, and cultural activities.

You will also lead mental health and wellbeing programs which empower our resident's choices and independence.

  • Hourly rate ranges between $24.48 and $27.20._

Duties

  • Plan, organise, and lead activities for our residents that will meet social and recreational needs while also promoting independence and increasing quality of life.
  • Assess and document the effectiveness of the programs, by tracking residents' progress and changing the programs as needed

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of a Cert III in Leisure and Lifestyle
  • Senior First Aid Certificate is essential
  • Previous experience within an aged or community care setting
  • Highly developed organisation and time management skills
  • The ability to solve problems independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • An understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and Outcomes
