About the John Holland & Gamuda Joint Venture:

The John Holland & Gamuda Joint Venture have been awarded the M1 Pacific Motorway from Black Hill to Tomago within the City of Newcastle and Port Stephens Council local government areas.

This major project will provide increased road capacity via the 10KM of new dual carriageway, reducing congestion and travel times for residents, improving accessibility for the surrounding road network and improved road safety for all users.

About the role:

We are looking to engage with
Contract Managers (multiples roles) with the capability to work within the Commercial function on the M1.

You will work with a high performing and supportive team of senior delivery staff who will work with you to deliver both the project and your career aspirations.

This role will see you utilise your people and stakeholder management, technical and commercial skills on a major infrastructure project within a safe, engaging and high performing team environment.

To be successful in this role:

You will see yourself as an established Contracts Manager or Senior Contract Administrator looking to further their career in a key leadership role within a top tier contractor on major projects.
You will have a clear drive to achieve quality commercial outcomes and have demonstrated success in a similar role, we are interested in your skill base and potential not the size of your past projects.
Direct and organise control of all cost engineering, cost reporting and forecasting
Ensure the establishment and maintenance of a register of subcontractors and identify all key data in relation to each subcontract
Ensure selected subcontractors and suppliers are acceptable to the project.
Conduct negotiations with subcontractors and ensure all subcontractor agreements are closely aligned to the project's risk management principals
Financial management: Ensure strong contract, commercial and financial risk management, accurate forecasting of both costs and revenue, take corrective action in line with JH's authority and reporting frameworks and maximise the profit margin for the project
