Where you'll be working

Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region.

What you'll be doing

To function as a member of the clerical team to assist in the overall function of the University Clinic (Outpatients) within Westmead Hospital to deliver a comprehensive range of high-level administrative and public/customer relation support functions.

This includes assistance with the day-to-day efficient operation of outpatient clinics, making appointments, registration of patients, maintaining waitlists, preparation in the raising of revenue via Medicare bulk billing and general reception duties.

Multi-tasking within this team is essential.

To be eligible for permanent appointment to a position in NSW Health, you must have an Australian citizenship or permanent Australian residency.


Selection Criteria:


  • Proven extensive clerical experience in a busy reception/customer service position.
  • Evidence of high level verbal and written communication skills with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and also as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Expertise in computer skills, proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and Client/Patient Management Systems
  • Proven high level organisational skills including the ability to problem solve, prioritise workload, multitask and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to identify issues of relevance, sensitivity and confidentiality and knowing when to escalate matters of importance and/or urgency.
