Description
Liquid is looking for a
Mid/Senior Product Designer to join our team.

Your role will see you use your creative abilities to explore and iterate through different solutions to solve design problems from our client's point of view, which is backed by our team's dedication to research and testing.

We are a digital agency that prides itself on solving complex problems and creating new opportunities. Sometimes that's transforming how an organisation works and the services it delivers. Often, it's tackling difficult social challenges like mental health, aged care or education. Always, it's as a trusted part of the client team.

You can read more about our work here.

As a
Product Designer at Liquid, you will excel in both UX practice and beautiful visual design: a consummate product designer and design thinker.

You believe the fundamental concept of "design" means considering form, function, behaviour and affect together.

It's still good if you feel most confident in one particular area - we're all specialists in different, complementary ways - but it's the curiosity of a generalist mindset that we really value.

You will need to show a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience, with knowledge and experience working autonomously and collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams, on projects that demand a broad set of skills from defining product requirements and contributing to workshops, through to lo-fidelity prototyping and creating hi-fidelity UI.

Core responsibilities of the role:

  • Deliver the product design, ideation and execution for key projects
  • Work as part of a diverse multidisciplinary team in a highly collaborative environment
  • Provide guidance and support for peers
  • Team up with service designers, strategists, writers, producers and the technology team to deliver great products
  • Use tools like Sketch or Figma to design interfaces, prototype with the likes of InVision and don't shy away from editing content with Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Communicate UX thinking and systems design through user flows, diagrams and the odd wireframe

To be successful you'll need:

  • Formal qualifications in design
  • Strong communication skills, written, verbal and listening
  • Strategic problemsolving skills with the capacity to distill complex information into meaningful concepts, ideas and designs
  • Knowledge of best UX practice and standards, designing for different contexts and screen sizes
  • A good eye for colour, type and proportion
  • Agile environment experience
  • Be an excellent team player
  • Open to sharing thoughts, ideas and work inprogress
  • Ability to experiment and adapt to new technologies and ways of working
  • Curiosity

Advantageous, but not essential:

  • Experience working in a digital agency
  • Experience working in a consulting role
  • Experience working with and contributing to design systems
