About the Role:
Non-Accredited Plastic Surgery Registrar
Applications are sought for three (3) Non-Accredited Plastic Surgery Registrars seeking employment at Western Health from 5 February February 2025.
Other aspects of your role will include:
- patient assessment, co-ordination and management in consultation with the treating consultant
- appropriate communication with other health professionals including nursing and allied health staff
- appropriate and clear communication and/or handover of patients under your care
- provide leadership in the multidisciplinary setting
- demonstrate initiative, efficient time management, education and learning
- demonstrate commitment to quality and safety
- teaching and supervision of residents, interns and medical students
You will be accountable to your Head of Unit and/or responsible consultant surgeon for the care of all patients in the Department.
About Department of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
The Department of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Western Health is staffed by 11 Plastic Surgeons, 5 registrars (2 accredited, 3 non-accredited) and supported by a team of residents and interns.
Areas of clinical exposure will include general plastic and reconstructive surgery, hand surgery, skin cancer surgery, trauma surgery, head and neck surgery, microsurgery and breast reconstructive surgery.
Outpatient clinics are held for adult and paediatric plastic surgery with consultant plastic surgeons, as well as dressings clinics led by registrars.
Mandatory Requirements
- primary medical degree
- current general registration with AHPRA
- previous surgical HMO experience
- current employee Victorian Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- satisfactory Police Record Check
- immunisation status clearance (including evidence of COVID 19 vaccination)
- image intensifier (C-arm) license[CHL1]
