The Role
Work at the heart of a cutting-edge enterprise that is fast tracking the delivery of Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) manufacturing in Australia.
Working on this major, $1 billion Australian Government initiative, you will lead and direct overall contract management. This includes creating and maintaining complex contracts with million-dollar budgets as well as managing critical contractor relationships.
As the EL 1 Commercial Manager, you will lead the practical operational side of procurement and contracts (writing contracts, executing changes, delivering work and financial management).
Be accountable for timely internal and external procurement and contract reporting such as key achievements to date, cost, schedule and risk management.
A major responsibility is maintaining productive contractor relationships—ongoing liaison, providing direction, monitoring performance—so contracts comply with Defence needs and standards.
As the EL 1 Commercial Manager, you will lead and direct a dynamic, cohesive integrated team and manage detailed workflows.
This position is for a high functioning, proactive, self-starter who will inspire strong support for the GWEO enterprise.
About our Team
Government recently announced the acceleration of a Sovereign Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) Enterprise. The GWEO Enterprise will enhance Australia's self-reliance and supply chain resilience and develop a sovereign guided weapons manufacturing capability.
The Enterprise is a directorate in Defence's newly formed Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance Division in the Capability Acquisition Sustainment Group (CASG).
GWEO partners with industry to acquire and sustain a multi-billion-dollar portfolio of explosive ordnance capability to support the Australian Defence Force.
This newly established team will work collaboratively and achieve results to a very high standard.The team will grow quickly in the coming months and be made up of a dynamic and flexible Australian Public Sector, Australian Defence Force and contractor workforce from the private sector.
- Lead and direct complex contract management by creating and maintaining contracts with milliondollar budgets as well as managing critical contractor relationships.
