This role will provide direction and leadership the Bank's public education program, including oversight of the design, implementation and monitoring of the program.


Your team will ensure that information about the Bank's roles and functions, at present and historically, is available to the public in formats suitable for different stages of learning and for different engagement needs.


This role will oversee research and program evaluation to ensure the effectiveness of the education program in realising is strategic aims.

If successful you will also need to liaise closely with the Bank's communication staff, ensuring that the Public Access and Education team is successfully integrated into the new Communications Department, following the appointment of a Chief Communications Officer for the Bank.


This will involve:

  • Identifying the formats suitable for delivery of content to educators and students.
  • Designing resources (digital and hard copy) for provision to educators and students.
  • Identifying opportunities for sharing content about the RBA's roles and functions with organisations in the tertiary education sector.
  • Developing programs for public access to RBA information and education about that information utilising the RBA's Museum.
  • Identifying external programs and events suitable for RBA participation so as to strengthen public awareness and understanding of the RBA and its activities.

Applicants will require:

  • A degree in education, economics or closely related field.
  • Sound knowledge of the Bank's role and functions.
  • Strong skills in work planning, stakeholder management and communication.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivery of programs.
Qualifications in economics are essential. Qualifications in public relations or museum studies would be highly valued.

Familiarity with development of digital education resources and with delivery of online education programs -particularly in Museums or learning centres - would be highly regarded.

A working with children check will be mandatory and as will occasional weekend and public holiday work.
