A day in the life of an Aboriginal cultural arts teacher


Working as an Aboriginal Cultural Arts Teacher, you'll be responsible for constructing, guiding and enhancing the educational process, delivering programs, collaborating with a team of trainers to enable students to achieve their desired outcomes at TAFE NSW Maitland Campus.


To succeed in this role you'll have a sound knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal Culture, communities and engagement, and be passionate about sharing your industry experience and knowledge to a student cohort from a wide range of backgrounds.


We would love to hear from you if you have.

  • Minimum qualification of Certificate III in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Arts, Visual Arts or Fine Arts, or a related field
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or equivalent
  • 3+ years post qualification experience in industry relevant to your qualifications, gained no longer than five years previously
  • Confirmation of Aboriginality

You are highly motivated, have exceptional customer service skills and strong attention to detail. Your ability to manage competing priorities at work ensures the efficient allocation of work, resourcing and support.

You have demonstrated experience in collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders and building rapport and connections within your local Aboriginal communities.
