The City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors.

These range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more.

What does success look like in this role?

  • You will build and maintain meaningful relationships with children, families, colleagues, and the centre community.
  • Participate as an active member of a highly experienced and reputable Team and Organisation.
  • Engage in career building opportunities
  • Promote leadership and professional development of educators through coaching and reflective practise
  • Manage the daytoday operations of the centre, including childcare staff practices, promotion and marketing of community related services
  • Manage budget and efficiencies including rosters/staffing
  • Advocate for the inclusion of children and families with additional needs and diverse backgrounds, ensuring professional support agencies and personnel are utilised when appropriate

The things we really need in this role look like:

  • Previous experience as a Coordinator/Director working in Centre Based Childcare
  • Childcare relevant qualification such as Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) or an experienced Diploma of Children's Services
  • Sound, practical working knowledge and implementation of the National Quality Framework and the Early Years Learning Framework.
  • Strong understanding of rostering and managing the movement of staff
  • Current First Aid Certificate, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma
  • Knowledge of EYLF, NQS and WH&S Policies
  • Previous experience with Assessment and Rating
  • Child Protection qualifications and WWCC
