Role:


Leading Whole School Inclusion Practices and Teams:

  • Lead the Inclusion Team to work towards a consistent vision for student support related to inclusion, including regular team meetings
  • Develop and implement a consistent notetaking process and template for Learning Support Officers to ensure bestpractice record keeping is in place
  • Construct and maintain budgets and funding use plans (PSDMS) to ensure optimisation of resources
  • Construct, maintain and regularly review schedules of LSOs for in class support and direct other duties as required
  • Support the embedding of inclusion and disability expertise in strategic planning and recruitment practices within the school
  • Support the embedding of evidencebased inclusive education and human rights obligations into school policies and plans
  • Promote a culture of high expectations and aspirations for the learning of students with disability or additional needs

Leading Transition to Disability Inclusion

  • Oversee the transition of LSC to Disability Inclusion from the previous PSD system of funding
  • Oversee the IEP/SSG process to ensure DET compliance including the engagement with student voice
  • Lead contact for Disability Inclusion within LSC
  • Where appropriate, liaise with Wellbeing Team around students who are supported by both teams
  • Identify students who require a Disability Inclusion Profile and conducting relevant assessments (eg. Vineland)
  • Oversee the booking and administration of Disability Inclusion Profile Meetings
  • Support the collation of supporting information for Disability Inclusion Profile Meetings
  • Support the building of staff capacity to understand, develop and implement IEPs and appropriate goals

Leading Supportive Practices for Priority Students (OoHC/Koorie/EAL/Students With Additional Needs)

  • Coordinate with external services to support priority students (LookOut, KESO, etc.)
  • Develop plan for the identification and support of Students With Additional Needs (SWANs) not funded under Disability Inclusion
  • Oversee the IEP/SSG process to ensure DET compliance including the engagement with student voice
for at risk cohorts

  • Where appropriate, liaise with Wellbeing Team around students who are supported by both teams
  • Lead the Multicultural Education Aide (MEA) Team to work towards a consistent vision for student support related to English language, including regular team meetings
  • Construct, maintain and regularly review schedules of MEAs for in class support and direct other duties as required

Developing Capacity of Teams:


  • Ensure clear role descriptions for all team members are in place, as well as ensure all team members are working according to the team's trademark behaviours
  • Ensure staff have appropriate external supervision and debriefing processes to support them in their role/s
  • Identify and utilise PL and other opportunities for staff to build their capacity across Student Support, including overseeing the PL program for the team
  • Provide PL for other staff on relevant items e.g. wellbeing referral processes, learning difficulties referrals etc.
  • Regularly review team operations and adjust to optimise team dynamics and functionality (including regular performance reviews)

General:


  • Act as college's Disability Inclusion (DI) Leader and contribute as a member of the College Leadership Team
  • Ensure Inclusion focus areas and staff work towards building the LSC Graduate
  • Build sustainable partnerships e.g. RESP, Ardoch, industry connections
  • Ensure regular communication from teams using LSC channels e.g. website, Compass, newsletter, social media
  • Support data collection for census
  • Develop and lead staff PL related to Disability Inclusion and creating inclusive classrooms as required
  • Prepare and share regular reports regarding students under DI, SWAN and MEA support
  • Other duties as directed by the Executive Team
