    We are looking for an experienced, high-energy senior engineer for our Quality Engineering team. You will use proven testing practices to foster excellence in our products. This includes usage and development of tools and frameworks necessary to support testing and release builds. You will apply your technical knowledge, leadership skills, software development methodologies, best test practices, and proven processes to consistently deliver great quality products in a predictable manner.

    The role is also an ambassador of quality engineering principles in collaboration with developers and product owners. This role will define quality processes and goals together with Quality Architects, ensure test plans are appropriate including review of plans done by developers. This role will also assist in the definition and creation of tests and scripts to support customer journey scenarios and load tests for contact center features. This role will help to orchestrate test infrastructure, processes and techniques to support test initiatives within software development processes.

    As a part of the QE team, you are expected to participate in the agile development process, documenting daily the status of the test plans, troubleshoot together with developers around customer complex scenarios, procure test environments to reproduce issues, analyze customer defects and reproduce them in the lab, provide demos to internal audiences.

    Role purpose

  • Software testing and quality assurance of Five9 Virtual Contact Center applications, working under Agile software development environment
  • Validate customer functionality (customer journey) across multiple platforms and interfaces
  • Orchestrate test environments and conditions to validate software performance, functionality and usability
  • Lead Quality and Automation initiatives across multi-disciplinary teams, coordinating process definition, best practices and efficient usage of infrastructure
  • Logs analysis and issues detecting. Description and documenting of found defects in bug-tracking system

    • How you contribute

  • Provide technical leadership to design test plans for native cloud applications built in Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Participate in Agile software development initiatives (standup, grooming session, sprint demo, increment planning)
  • Coaching and supervising internal projects to enhance quality, migrate tools or test new areas
  • Work closely with operations and sustaining team to ensure platform availability
  • Ensure continuous resource utilization, and drive continuous efficiency improvements
  • Think quickly, with the ability to make decisions with incomplete data
  • Working within geographically distributed team of Dev, DB architects, PdM, RM, and QE
  • Remotely Collaborate with existing Automation Test team for: Test environment support, Test schedule plan creation, discussion and supporting
  • Automatic tests execution, issues investigation and results reporting about different types of testing by Test Automation Group
  • Support and create new internal tools development for automation testing
  • Support and extending of Test Automation framework (Python & Java based)
  • Collaborate and work in sync with co-workers in headquarters office (California), and remote offices (Portugal, Australia)

    • Skills, competencies and qualifications
    Required:

  • 5+ years' experience in the SaaS industry, understanding of SW development process and testing methodologies
  • Knowledge of SW version control, bug-tracking, and test management systems
  • Experience in front-end testing of Web based apps on desktops (Win, iOS) as well as on iPad/Android tablet, and mobile devices
  • Troubleshooting and analytical skills, logs analysis
  • Proven experience in building, maintaining, and supporting test solutions for enterprise SaaS applications
  • CS/EE degree or equivalent with 5+ years of proven related experience
  • Practical experience with DBMS (MySQL desirable)
  • Basic knowledge of UNIX/Linux
  • Practical knowledge of cloud (GCP) technologies
  • Experience of API testing
  • Knowledge of programming techniques and algorithms (OOP, multithreading, script languages such as Java Script or Python)
  • Knowledge of Java Integrated Development Environment (Eclipse, InteliJ, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Web UI Automation with tools like Selenium
  • Good technical English reading, writing, and verbal skills
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills
  • Strong interpersonal, reliable and communication skills

    • Desirable:

  • Cloud platform experience such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Experience managing test infrastructure for real-time SaaS products like Unified Communications systems or Contact Centers in a pure Cloud model
  • Knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure automation software tools
  • Experience in Test Automation projects for cloud computing solutions (private or public)
  • Experience with NoSQL DB like Google Cloud Datastore
  • Experience with security protocols (i.e., OWASP Top Ten, PCI Compliance, and data encryption standards)
  • Basic knowledge of VoIP, ISDN, PSTN
  • Experience with high-volume transactional systems
