About Us
The County Court of Victoria is established pursuant to the County Court Act 1958. It has original and appellate jurisdiction and is the principal trial court in the State of Victoria. The Court hears over 12,000 criminal, common law, and commercial cases each year. The County Court has unlimited monetary jurisdiction in common law and commercial matters. In its criminal jurisdiction, the Court hears all indictable offences except treason, murder, and related offences.
The County Court is committed to continuous improvement in accordance with the International Framework for Court Excellence.

About the Role

The County Court Criminal Division hears indictable offences under Victorian and Commonwealth law, as well as appeals from the Magistrates Court and Children's Court both in Melbourne and across regional Victoria.

The Criminal Division Administration Team is comprised of four functional areas, Criminal Registry Services, Case Management, Court Resources and Allocations and Practice and Procedure.

Led by the Director, together they are responsible for all administrative activities that sustain the operations of the Division, delivering critical services to Court users and the judiciary.

The Case Management Team is comprised of Division Lawyers, Case Administrators and Associates working with and supporting judicial officers in the state-wide management of cases and liaising directly with practitioners in order to identify and resolve issues as early as possible in the case management lifecycle.

About You
Demonstrated experience working in a legal environment or in the Victorian court system would be highly regarded.

The role requires a high level of attention to detail, superior written, verbal, interpersonal and technical skills, and an ability to balance competing demands on time.
