Where you fit in
The Prelude FLNG facility is stationed northeast of Broome, Western Australia, in Australian Commonwealth waters.

The Prelude FLNG operation comprises sub-sea wells tied back to an FLNG facility encompassing gas processing and liquefaction through to LNG/LPG/Condensate storage and offloading, along with the requisite supporting marine and utilities facilities.


You will be part of the integrated Maintenance planning and scheduling team, developing high quality work plans for offshore execution.

You will ensure timely delivery of accurate and executable plans (including work steps, work packages, required services and materials), and enabling continuous improvement.

The role is key to enabling cost effective procurement, integrated scheduling and efficient work execution that support a safe, reliable, and efficient Prelude performance built on a culture of care, respect and belonging.


What's the role?
Maintenance Planners are responsible for maintaining an overview of PM and CM Maintenance activities for their respective production area grouping, across all planning windows, and:

  • In their respective areas, determine the optimum clustering of activities, resources and materials required including Operations support, specialist service providers and OEM's.
  • Closely monitor critical dates for key activity groups across all planning windows, raising deviation/deferral requests as required.
  • Develop fit for purpose, executable work packs to the desired standard.
  • Prepare safety requirements such as preliminary permits, JSAs/JHAs, lifting plans, etc.
  • Retrieve or create task lists, with manpower requirements and duration estimates
  • Define and initiate procurement of required materials and resources, including common plant equipment such as lifting and hoisting equipment, scaffolding, etc.
  • Prepare estimated cost for the work
  • Coordinate with Contracts & Procurement / Purchasing as necessary.
  • Prepare necessary documents needed for field execution e.g. reference documents, drawings, task checklists, inspection and test plans. Coordinate with discipline engineers for any clarification of procedures or proposed work methodology.
  • Initiate MOC's when required for the execution of the work.
  • Monitor work being planned and puts it into "ready for scheduling state" once all requirements are available/met (e.g. "executable").
  • Incorporate improvements in the work preparation based on feedback from the frontline.
  • Maintain a list of "executable" work that the Scheduler can pull from as fillin work.
  • Incorporate improvements from work pack feedback coming from the frontline, such as updating task lists, BOMs, materials data, etc.
  • Communicate status of work to the Scheduler, Integrated Activity Planning & Scheduling (IAPS) planners and other interested parties in the Asset.
  • Demonstrate a deep strong commitment to the Shell values, code of conduct and Safety Leadership requirements.

What we need from you

  • Trade background, preferably in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated core commitment to safety, with effective asset integrity and process safety management held as a core belief.
  • Active team player, participating in the attainment of team goals, coaching and mentoring continuous improvement.
  • Ability to seek, integrate and implement advice from outside their direct sphere of knowledge (for example from Engineering, HSSE or Marine specialists) is critical to the success of the role.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with a proven ability to engage with a broad spectrum of people.
  • Familiarity with the Asset Management System (AMS) Perform Maintenance Execution, Permit to Work, Safe Isolation and Ensure Safe Production Standards and Manuals and the Maritime Process Model would be highly regarded.
