About the Role:


Anglicare is seeking a retail professional to lead and manage all retail activity for Anglicare with overall accountability for establishment and implementation of all strategic and operational objectives of Anglicare.

You will be responsible for Anglicare's retail sales, profitability, people leadership, business development, merchandising, human resources deployment, deepening parish and schools' partnerships (as relating to shops), and training.

You will successfully lead a customer and team focused culture that contributes to and drives a profitable sales result for the organisation.

This role significantly contributes to our service to people in need in the local community by supporting staff to achieve Anglicare's client and customer care mission.


Key Responsibilities (not limited to):


  • Implementing and monitoring agreed strategies to ensure that the agreed retail sales, growth and customer care targets are met.
  • Ensure positive financial performance by ensuring budgets are met, expenses controlled, and the effective management of operational matters. Ensure that support and purchasing processes are conducted in accordance with relevant Organisational policies and procedures.
  • Provide appropriate supervision, development and training to staff ensuring that they are well supported. This includes ongoing communication on the expansion of retail operations and supporting staff through change.
  • Benchmarking and implementation of continuous improvement strategies.
  • Ensure the development of mutually beneficial partnerships with local churches which grow the capacity of both Anglicare and the local church to care for those in need in the community.
  • Ensure that Anglicare retail is well known in the community by networking and promoting Anglicare based on the marketing and brand strategy, building professional relationships and representing Anglicare at industry forums and events as appropriate.
  • Ensure safety and risk are managed and problems solved by ensuring sources of risk are identified and preventative action taken to minimise risk.

About you:


  • Relevant tertiary qualifications including Retail or Business management
  • Previous experience in a leadership role in the retail industry
  • Welldeveloped financial management skills
  • Previous experience in the not for profit sector highly desirable
  • Current Working with Children's Check or willingness to obtain one
  • Covid19 vaccination, unless assessed exempt
  • Strong personal alignment with the Mission and Vision of Anglicare.
