What you'll be doing:

A great opportunity is now available for a Hospital Assistant to join the dynamic Domestic Services team located at Blue Mountains Hospital, Katoomba.

Your role is to provide a safe hygienic environment for patients, staff and their visitors and to perform all tasks comfortably using manual handling techniques.

You will ensure stock & chemicals appropriately in locked cupboards and comply with Waste and Recycling Management Procedures Policy.

A Current Driver's Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel as this is a a 24 hour, 7 day rotating roster.

An eligibility list may be created for future vacancies.

Selection criteria to be addressed:

Knowledge and experience of hospital or commercial cleaning procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively, with all levels of staff, as well as patients and members of the public.
Ability to take the initiative and respond to changes in cleaning requirements with demonstrated ability & capacity to work independently and as part of a team with a commitment to customer service.
Demonstrated experience in cleaning using machines, microfiber resources and techniques for its use provided by hospital.
Knowledge of Infection Control procedures for cleaning.
An understanding of Work Place Safety (WH&S), Manual Handling and Equal Opportunity practices in the work place.
