    About the OPPORTUNITY

    BAE Systems Maritime Australia (formerly known as ASC Shipbuilding), has been contracted to design and deliver the world's most advanced anti-submarine warfare frigates to the Royal Australian Navy. The Hunter Class Frigate Program (HCFP) will create and sustain more than 5,000 jobs across BAE Systems and the wider Australian Defence supply chain over the life of the program.

    We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quality Engineer to join our Maritime Australia business on the Hunter Class Frigate Program (HCFP) based at Osborne, Adelaide location. You will be part of our inclusive and supportive Combat Systems team, and will be employed on a permanent and full time basis.

    We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia including working a 9-day fortnight and a hybrid working environment.

    You will be responsible for supporting and ensuring the Combat Systems scope of work on the HCFP is performing in accordance to the relevant ISO 9001 Quality certification, the program quality management plan and company requirements.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Perform a range of quality engineering and process assurance activities, ensuring quality practices are being effectively deployed
    • Conduct Quality internal process audits and health checks and provide support with corrective and preventative actions
    • Provide coaching, advice and support to stakeholders on quality engineering related matters and processes
    • Conduct supplier audits and monitor supplier performance on their products and services provided
    • Champion the quality engineering activities, ensuring quality standards/outcomes of the business are achieved and in line with Quality standards, program and company requirements
    • Collaborate effectively and build good relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, maintaining a positive culture
    • Support and implement continuous improvement and quality engineering improvement activities

    About YOU

    • Extensive Quality Engineering/Assurance experience and an understanding of Quality standards/practices
    • Experience with maintaining Business Management System content
    • Good communication and stakeholder management skills, the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within large teams
    • Attention to detail and the drive to improve current processes and solve problems

    Whilst not essential, a relevant tertiary degree qualification or Maritime industry experience, will be highly regarded.
