Gilroy Catholic College at Castle Hill is looking for a skilled, contemporary and passionate HSIE Secondary Teacher to be part of our school community and enrich the lives of our students.

This is a 1.0 FTE paternity leave position from 1 February 2024 until 11 October 2024.


Key focus areas
The Secondary HSIE Teacher will fit the following criteria:

  • Contemporary and authoritative professional knowledge and understanding of the teaching of HSIE and the factors that influence learning and development, effective pedagogies, assessment and reporting, a wide range of resources, including interactive technologies, and their use in teaching and learning
  • Understanding of how to differentiate learning to cater for students needs in order to maximise student learning.
  • Exemplary professional practice which includes building effective relationships and managing complex interactions, creating and maintaining engaging and intellectually challenging and safe learning environments, planning, implementing and evaluating rigorous and inclusive learning programs
  • Use assessments and constructive feedback to inform teaching and learning and communicating effectively with different audiences using a range of strategies
  • Ability to teach Stage 5 Commerce
  • Ability to teach Stage 6 Business Studies

Qualifications and accreditations:


  • Compliance with NSW Child Protection Legislation
  • Working with Children Check clearance
  • Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)
  • Tertiary Qualification (minimum 4year degree)
  • Statements of Service
