ASIC is seeking a full time Finance Officer to join their Finance team

  • Experience in assessing and processing claims will be highly beneficial
  • 12 months temporary role based in Brisbane
  • Salary between $54,369 $57,209 (depending on experience) plus 15.4% super

The team
The Finance team provides a range of financial support and analysis services to all of ASIC internal stakeholders. Finance Operations provides direct financial support to the various business units including Administered receipts (i.e. company returns), Administered debt, Fee Waivers, Departmental Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Taxation, Unclaimed Monies and Industry Funding.


The role:

  • Assess and process unclaimed monies receipts, records, claims and payments according to Key Performance Indicators (KPI)'s and legislation contained in the Corporations Act 2001, Life Insurance Act 1995, Banking Act 1959 and The Public Governance, Performance & Accountability Act 2013(PGPA)
  • Accurately input claims for payment and record financial transactions in business systems (Oracle Enterprise Taxation Management
  • ETM) in accordance with information provided
- actively build and maintain strong relationships with ASIC internal work areas, other government agencies and a network of key stakeholders.
- positively participate in process improvement, team planning and own performance management activities


About you:

  • Secondary education certificate or diploma.
  • Experience in customer service and working in a team environment.
  • Experience in following procedures and defined processed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Display an awareness of financial risk, reputational risk and exposures.
