Our Client
Our client is currently looking to recruit a Regional Operations Manager that will oversee three large manufacturing plants across two states incorporating the operation from planning, production, engineering, safety, quality, warehouse & logistics.
This role is a strategic hire to help develop & implement world class manufacturing systems and processes, oversee and manage strategic capital investment and set the business up for significant growth over the coming 5 years.
The Role
Reporting to the COO your responsibilities will be:
- Develop and implement best in class manufacturing systems and provide training, support and ensuring compliance to systems.
- Creation of work instructions and training matrix systems, leading training programs and building highly capable leadership teams.
- Support and lead an operationsbased teams across production, maintenance and engineering, working with planning, warehouse & logistics, quality & safety to achieve/exceed KPI's and deliver on productivity targets and operational improvement.
- Educate, coach, and facilitate operational expectations, lead change initiatives through the leadership team to deliver on all operational KPIs.
- Develop, implement, and maintain operations systems, training programs, ensuring staff structures and labour plans are optimised and meet the needs of the business.
- Develop and implement improvement plans for the operation, encompassing all functions including targeted and measurable KPI's.
- Develop, Implement, Manage, and report on metrics (KPI's) as well as instilling understanding of metrics across the group to develop a performancebased culture.
- Lead and coach on continuous improvement initiatives in conjunction with the leadership group, to reduce cost and waste, improve productivity and quality.
- Lead and ensure the successful delivery of capital programs, managing internal and external stakeholders.
- Accountable for driving a Safety and Quality first culture across operations.
- Support the group R&D and Quality team to deliver best in class innovation and renovation.
Your Background
To be successful in this role you will have the below experience and competencies:
- Operations leadership experience, responsible for leading manufacturing teams in a large & complex food manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in developing and building strong leadership groups within a manufacturing plant leading to positive change.
- Must have the ability and track record of being able to see the bigger picture and step away from the day to day to deliver the longerterm strategic vision.
- Experience working with engineering and being either involved from an Operations perspective or as an engineering perspective on the delivery of reliability and capital initiatives.
- Strong continuous improvement background with a good grasp of sophisticated continuous improvement methodologies such as LEAN / Six Sigma and 5Y problemsolving tools.
- Good commercial acumen, able to understand and manage finances with the ability to identify the key cost drivers in a fastpaced food plant.
- Collaborative in their style, inclusive in making decisions.
- Strong communication, coaching, consultation and negotiation skills with an ability to engage and influence internal stakeholders.
- Tertiary qualification in a related field will be well regarded.
