Description
Would you rather be scrolling through your Instagram Stories or creating content on TikTok than searching for jobs? Then we have the opportunity for you

Swinburne is looking for a Social Media Adviser who lives and breathes social media content.

We're after a social media expert, someone who knows what content works best for reels vs stories and someone who's up to speed on the current trends on TikTok.

The Social Media Adviser will be critical in creating exciting and relevant social media content for Swinburne's channels that engages and grows our following and profile.

Reporting to the Social Media Manager, the Social Media Adviser will primarily focus on the day-to-day operations of Swinburne's social media channels, including content creation and scheduling, community management, and reporting and analysis.

Your key focus will be creating engaging and exciting content that raises the profile and following of Swinburne and our social media channels, especially TikTok and Instagram.

You'll also be responsible for planning, creating, shooting, and publishing content (video, reels, photos and copy) for all of Swinburne's social channels, whether that's sharing content published by our academics via The Conversation or DITL from one of our students.

What will you bring to the role?

  • You've got plenty of experience (agency or client side) creating social media content and campaigns across multiple channels
  • TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube to be specific.
  • Lover of news, pop culture, tech and all the latest trends you've binged all the latest drops, your TikTok algorithm is on point, you know the latest news in Australia and across the world and you're across all the trending influencers and brands.
  • You juggle priorities, deadlines and stakeholders like a pro.
  • You take pride in your work; you're meticulous with your planning, and execute with care, when preparing and delivering your social content and campaigns.
  • You're a savvy user of data to inform decision making.
  • Collaboration is your middle name (not literally. But if it is, cool).
  • You're an expert in creating your own content and just as comfortable reviewing supplied copy from a range of stakeholders on campus you know exactly when it's nailed the brief.
  • You have experience using social media management and monitoring platforms like Hootsuite and Meltwater. You're also a pro with creative tools such as Adobe and other content creation tools.

About you

To be suitable for this role, you need to have experience in the following key accountabilities:

  • Demonstrated experience implementing social media plans and activities across numerous platforms, segments, and markets to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Excellent content production and editing skills combined with an ability to work under time pressure to produce high quality content.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to identify and analyse emerging opportunities.
  • Demonstrated experience in using data and technology to improve the process and performance of social media activity.

Qualifications

  • A degree in marketing/communications or related fields with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
