Full-Time 55K Super Opera Queensland is one of the State s leading performing arts organisationsAn exciting opportunity to join a rapidly evolving companyProfessional and supportive company cultureAbout the roleThe Events and Administration Officer is a new role within the Opera Queensland Development Team, reporting to the Director of Development. The Development portfolio encompasses philanthropy, corporate partnerships sponsorship and the company s suite of signature engagement events and bespoke strategic money-can t-buy experiences. The Events and Administration Officer is responsible for implementing the company s suite of signature engagement events and bespoke strategic money-can t-buy experiences. Working with internal and external stakeholders as well as corporate partners, donors and venues the role has oversight of a range of activities, including event co-ordination and supporting the Development portfolio on the day-to-day administration duties.The role is full-time, to be delivered over 5 days per week. Occasional work on weekends and after hours will be necessary.About YouThe Events and Administration Officer understands the importance of being organised and giving attention to detail when delivering successful events. You will also have a solid network of strong relationships with venues and suppliers across Brisbane.You will have experience and be confident in delivering events that range from intimate dinner parties to classic stand-up cocktail functions to Gala style balls across an array of local venues. You will exhibit a creative flair for bringing events to life and making them memorable experiences for guests. You will have the proven ability to negotiate with vendors and suppliers to deliver events within the allocated operating budget. You will be supported by the Director of Development and the Partnerships Manager to use your skills to proactively create processes that assist the day-to-day administration requirements of the Department.We are seeking applicants who love to engage with a diverse group of people and have a vitality for life. Previous experience with a CRM is desirable but not essential. More importantly you will have the ability to actively contribute to the success of a team, and feel comfortable working autonomously at times. A sense of humour and love for fun in all that you do is vital.
