  • Salary: WHA4 $27.41 - $27.72 per hour + 25% casual loading; WHA5 $28.11 - $28.41 per hour + 25% casual loading - Casual (up to 24 January 2022)
  • Joining the Catering Services team at the Port Pirie Hospital, you will be responsible for the delivery of a high quality food production and distribution service to patients and staff. You will oversee the ordering of non-imprest food supplies, plating of meals, menu selections and ensuring that quality control of food production is maintained. This will include undertaking special diet cooking and modified texture foods, and working in liaison with the Dietitian to meet specific nutritional requirements for patients. If appointed at the WHA5 level you will oversee staff and train apprentices as required, providing assistance to less experienced members of the team. It is expected that you will allocate, inspect and determine work priorities to ensure the quality and timeliness of work undertaken by employees.     To be employed at the WHA5 classification, you will need to hold trade qualifications or trade equivalent skills as a Cook and bring previous experience in preparing and cooking bulk meals and in preparing and cooking for dietary requirements. With a flexible approach to work and rostering systems, you will work well within a team environment and have the ability to work in various settings and relate to all levels of staff. 

    Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Screening/Check and specific immunisation requirements.
