Lazard Australia is seeking to recruit an experienced Analyst (2-plus years of direct investment banking experience) to join our Sydney office.


Role and Responsibilities


Responsible for the day-to-day support of transaction and marketing efforts and conducting company and industry analysis on new transaction opportunities.


  • Research, analyse, sensitise and adapt both internal and clientfacing financial and statistical analysis/ models before delivering the final product to senior bankers;
  • Be responsible for assisting in the preparation and production of presentations and marketing materials for clients and prospective clients, in consultation with other team members;
  • Work closely with senior bankers, assisting them with various reports and analyses;
  • Handle execution and process matters flawlessly, assisting in due diligence efforts as appropriate, understand client objectives and recommend potential solutions;
  • Provide mentoring and supervision for junior analysts in our team
  • Develop their profile with the Lazard Group globally and assist in executing cross border transactions.

Requirements:


  • Demonstrate strong technical and analytical skills with an ability to build financial models with ease;
  • Robust understanding of the accounting principles that underlie typical financial analyses used in advisory (particularly valuation);
  • Outstanding financial understanding that can be readily translated into modelling that is used for both marketing and execution purposes;
  • Selfmotivated, with demonstrable ability to manage conflicting priorities and requests in a high pressure environment;
  • Ability to take initiative and function independently, balanced with strong team skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationshipbuilding skills, with the ability to maintain relationships with colleagues and clients at all levels;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to deliver requested materials to senior bankers in a timely manner;
  • Strong appreciation of global capital markets and crossborder M&A activities


Must maintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct, adhere to legal and regulatory requirements of the investment banking environment, and follow Lazard Australia policies and procedures.
