This is a hands-on role responsible covering logistics, warehousing and transportation in a small/medium but growing FMCG.

Safety and efficient operations will be an initial focus of this role preparing the business for its next phase of expansion.


  • Plan and manage all aspects of the warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, order fulfilment, and transportation
  • Develop and enforce safety protocols to create a safe working environment for warehouse, transport and other operations staff.
  • Liaise with various interstate sites and sales teams to ensure warehouses are optimally stocked and warehouses are well managed.
  • Manage suppliers/partners/contractor arrangements and relationships where needed to deliver supply chain execution.
  • Provide leadership and support for small number of direct reports, manage performance appraisals and logistics and safety development.
  • Keep track of quality and quantity of stock levels and ensure demand planning forecast accuracy and timely replenishment of stock. No out of stock surprises.
  • Monitor and report ageing and perishable stocks including rotations
  • Continuously look for and recommend improvements to enhance logistics, warehouse and transportation operations.
  • Be hands on and assist in daily warehouse activities where necessary.
  • Facilitate and resolve any operational escalations received from clients.

Requirements:


  • Excellent understanding of warehouse management procedures.
  • Proficient in WHS knowledge and driving safe approaches and practices onsite.
  • Proficient knowledge of inventory controls.
  • Experience working with transport/logistics organisations in a similar role
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a small team
  • Ability to work collaboratively, organised, efficient and able to grasp operational details
  • Valid forklift licence (LF)
  • Proactive approach and positive attitude
  • SAP Business One experience an advantage
