About the role:


As HR Manager APAC you will be an integral part of the HR team and will work closely with the HR Director, Media to help deliver a global people strategy and operating plan which ensures our business divisions have the right capacity and capability to achieve their strategic aims.

This role is ideal for someone who is looking to take on a bigger role moving forwards.


As well as working with the HR team, you will work closely alongside the General Manager and Managing Director of the APAC business providing a full operational support service to the APAC team involving all aspects of HR and Recruitment.

This is a true generalist role suitable to a confident and pro-active individual, who is comfortable challenging the conventional approach when required and is also willing to 'muck-in' and do the operational tasks required.

Someone who is focused on the culture and who can support the HR Director and GM, APAC to 'make things happen' would be a great fit.


You will take HR responsibility for the APAC client group, spanning Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia, providing HR support and ensuring the provision of a professional and high-quality HR service.

The HR team is a strong part of the organisation and aim to deliver excellent customer focused HR support to the global business.


Key responsibilities:


  • To ensure best practice is defined and delivered in all aspects of HR for the APAC teams.
  • To be the first point of contact for employees' HR queries and issues, regularly meeting line managers to discuss any employee relations issues and provide expert advice which is compliant with employment laws.
  • Coach and inspire line managers to consistently improve their capability and effectiveness.
  • Promote a diverse and inclusive workplace that reflects the cities we serve, starting at recruitment phase throughout the full employment cycle.
  • Support the HR Director in delivering programs which drive improved performance, engagement, and retention.
  • Support the roll out of appropriate training and development initiatives.
  • Support the finance team with any assistance required in the administration of any local benefit schemes and payroll.
  • Own the recruitment process and support hiring managers through the selection process.
  • Onboarding of all new hires providing guidance on the employee lifecycle, payroll and benefits.
  • Help to facilitate the annual performance review (PDR) process.
  • Accurate processing and administration of confidential data using the HRIS with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Any other reasonable HR or Operational task as directed by the HR Director, GM APAC or MD APAC.

Skills:


  • An excellent track record of HR best practice in all areas and willing to be hands on with operational matters;
  • Strong skills in building and maintaining professional relationships.
  • Experience working in a Media organisation would be a plus.
  • Able to project a professional, credible image with confident communication skills (both orally and in writing).
  • Solid HR experience and ability to keep up to date technically.
  • Experience in managing recruitment exercises and processes.
  • Proven ability to facilitate meetings and discussions.
  • Experience of delivering training programs.
  • Coaching skills to assist in day to day support to managers.
  • Demonstrate a commercial, pragmatic approach to solving problems and negotiating terms or agreements.
  • Able to provide alternative, creative or flexible solutions and convince others.
  • Willing to be a proactive, collaborative member and contributor to the global HR team.
  • Ability to prepare data in a compelling manner.
  • A selfstarter able to work on a stand alone basis as well as demonstrable experience of successfully working in a global team.
  • Trustworthy and able to maintain confidentiality.
