About Dinybulu Regional Services

Dinybulu Regional Services started in 2014 after the Bulungkunum Corporation Limited and ALPA acquired the former Ramingining Resource Centre with a vision to further develop and deliver community services in the area.

As a subsidiary of ALPA, Dinybulu has the same mission; to operate a successful and responsible business, emphasising local employment, training, career pathways, customer service, and safety.


Dinybulu Regional Services is made up of businesses which provide services to the Ramingining community, they are the Dinybulu Mechanical Workshop, the Dinybulu Lodge, Homeland Services to six homelands surrounding Ramingining and Barge delivery services for ALPA and other businesses in Ramingining.


About the role

On behalf of the Yolgnu traditional owners and under the direction of the Dinybulu Regional Services Manager, the Dinybulu Workshop Manager is responsible to supervise, quote, diagnose, undertake and charge for mechanical repairs within the competency of a light vehicle mechanical tradesperson and workshop manager.


This role is based in a remote aboriginal community in the Northern Territory

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and assist the mechanic to diagnose motor vehicle faults using manual and electronic means.
  • Supervise and assist the mechanic to provide estimates and quotes for mechanical repairs and services using historical and electronic guidance.
  • Ensure that all work undertaken by the workshop has a job card and electronic invoice for completed repairs and services.
  • Ensure that the workshop is clean and dispose of waste products in the approved manner.
  • Supervise stock ordering by the Administration Support Officer Order the safe storage of all materials used in the operation of the workshop by the mechanic.
  • Review the stocktake of consumables using manual and electronic systems.
  • Manage the Profit and Loss statement for the Workshop.
  • Coach and mentor apprentices.
  • Be prepared to undertake formalised training to ensure ongoing, continuous professional development
  • Be a champion of the ALPA values and demonstrate a commitment to work health and safety.
  • Any other duties as within the capability and directed by the Dinybulu Regional Services Manager.

Skills and Experience

  • Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent based on a 4year apprenticeship in mechanical vehicle trades.
  • Experience with undertaking diagnostics with a wide range of vehicles.
  • Significant experience in diagnosing faults and repairing 4wd vehicles.
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills including proficient written and oral communication skills that can be adapted to meet the needs of people from all education levels, language abilities, and ethnic origin.
  • Experience using an electronic stock control and invoicing systems.
  • An unrestricted NT C class driver's license or ability to obtain.
