A bit about the role


Our
Administration Officer (School Readiness Funding) position works within our Early Education and Care Services (EECS) team to provide support to kindergarten Team Leaders to monitor their School Readiness Funding (SRF) budget and identify and mitigate noncompliance issues such as overspend/underspend.

Confidence in providing budget support to others to build skills and knowledge is a critical attribute to this role.


In collaboration with the Community Support Finance Officer, this position will work closely with the units Reform Lead to ensure accurate accounting of individual SRF budgets and contribute to the development of continual improvement activity.


What you'll deliver

  • Work closely with Kindergarten Team Leaders to provide support, with accurate monitoring of SRF budget and preparation for mid and end of year acquittal
  • Generate timely and accurate reports on how kindergarten services are tracking with prompt escalation of issues and risks
  • Perform financial duties including management of purchase orders, invoices and onboarding new suppliers
  • Provide general administrative support including setting up meetings, room bookings for SRF events

What you'll bring

  • Confidence and expertise in budgeting and experience using financial systems
  • Experience providing capacity building and support to others in budgeting
  • Degree or diploma course in Budgeting/Financial Planning or relevant work experience
  • A continuous improvement mindset with a positive, proactive, and flexible attitude
